The AGV has already run up to 340km/h on the East French Eastern high speed line

For four weekends from 21 November to 14 December, test runs for the AGV are being performed on the French “LGV East” line between Champagne-Ardenne and Lorraine train stations, with four to six runs each night.

During these tests it should reach speeds of up to 360kph.

All along the first three test runs weekends, acoustic evaluations, emergency braking tests or measurements of the electromagnetic compatibility (CEM) of the trainset were performed at gradually growing speeds. The progressive speedup already enabled the team working on board to reach 340km/h on 6-7 December weekend.

Laurent Baron, VHST Single Deck Platform Director said : "The AGV trainset continues to perform well overall in all areas related to line stress and interior comfort. In addition, its pantographs, tractive and braking power, and operating stability performed very well, and ballasting showed excellent results. The interior noise levels are also very satisfactory, especially in the driver's cab. We are now planning to make the very high-speed trials of up to 360 km/h next week."
